Supporting Rural Communities, Congregations and their Leaders

Rural culture is built on vibrant relationships. The Town Square Collaborative helps rural churches strengthen local connections, foster collaboration, and support thriving communities through shared vision, service, and care.

Rural Communities Need NEW Models of Support

Rural communities possess deep local knowledge, strong relationships, and a commitment to their neighbors. Yet many face declining civic institutions and limited access to the resources and investment needed to support long-term vitality and well-being.

Fewer Community Resources

Many rural communities have experienced the erosion of civic and local institutions that once helped foster connection, vitality, and community well-being.

Limited Access to Funding

Only a small percentage of philanthropic dollars in the United States reach rural communities, leaving many towns with fewer resources to address local challenges.

Strong Local Leadership

Rural communities already possess the knowledge, social capital, and energy needed to thrive. The challenge is connecting those strengths with the support needed to bring them to bear.

At the Town Square Collaborative, we believe the future of rural communities is built on the strengths they already possess. By fostering collaboration and connecting communities with new models of support, we help local leaders turn existing relationships, knowledge, and energy into lasting impact.
